The Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Toronto adjacent to the CN Tower and Metro Toronto Convention Centre installed an ozone laundry system to support their network of commercial laundry machines which measured from 100 lbs to 450 lbs in capacity. Hotel management kept extensive records to determine pre and post installation metrics in order to evaluate the performance of the system. Specific machines were used for various types of laundry including uniforms, bed linen, duvets, shower curtains and soiled linen from food and beverage operations. During a one month period post installation, the ozone laundry system provided $1500 in total cost savings from chemicals, energy and water, and labour and also provided in excess of 20 hours of total machine time savings to conduct the same level of work as compared to the pre installation period. Referenced against the total cost of the system and assuming similar results month to month, the payback on the capital investment 18 months.
