Municipal/Sewage Treatment, Water Treatment, Canada

The Town of Estevan, Saskatchewan wanted to improve the quality of the bio-solids and reduce chronic maintenance problems with their existing vertical screw separator. The plant had an aerobically digested municipal sludge from their secondary treatment process. The new sludge processing facility would run 8 hours per day and 5 days per week processing a flow rate of roughly 35 m3/hr or 275 m3/operating day. Solids were profiled at 8,000-12,000 mg/l with the proposed Volute screw press producing 2200 kg of dry solids per day. Simpson Environmental conducted an onsite pilot  for a two week period to provide the customer with operating data. The solution proposed by Simpson Environmental Corporation was a two (2) screw Model ES-352 system including control panels, polymer dosing systems and staff training. The installation of the Volute would enable the City to upgrade the quality of the solids cake and simplify storage and disposal this would then reduce the maintenance hours required by plant operators. The Town of Estevan was quite please with our results
