This chocolate factory faced potential penalties and surcharges from excess FOG’s in their municipal wastewater discharges. The customer tested centrifuge and belt press technologies that proved unsuccessful. The wastewater contained 2,000 mg/l of TSS. The Volute system was piloted on site and with appropriate pH adjustments and polymer applications was cleaning the wastewater and reducing the wastewater FOGs to below discharge limits within hours of the start up. The customer installed a Volute ES-132 after repiping their plant to make sure the treatment of all wastewater flows from the production line were captured and treated. The Volute system brought them into compliance on municipal discharges and resolved a chronic problem for the customer and municipality.
